Third-Party Add-Ons / Re: PowerBASIC and third party ocx dll calls
« Last post by Theo Gottwald on February 11, 2020, 05:49:03 PM »
Andreas, if you can not get it running alone, make a commercial project out of it. We have a new Forum for "Seeking Programmers".
Hire someone. Its possibly a question of some $100 to get working code of this from someone who know.
Make an add in the "Seeking Programmers" Subforum and see ...

Do not quit your Job, Bryan. See ... even at Bobs time when HE had PB the bussines was rather week.
Its a niche market for idealists. It does not have the capacity to get rich, possibly not even to keep your family alive.
As a good PHP-Programmer you will definitely earn more money.

Let me add, PB is for Hobbyists mostly.
The large Companies have done everything to get this market in their hands.
And they did it in away that Single persons can never compete.

Meta Forum / FORUM UPGRADE 03.02.2020
« Last post by Theo Gottwald on February 09, 2020, 09:41:04 AM »
I have upgraded the Forum to the newest version of SMF last week.
If there are still any problems please report me.

In fact what we did is, we were setting up a completely new forum and imported the (upgraded SMF-) Database.
So this was a major change it may have consequences here and there.

We will see where we can adjust or not.
I have deleted some issues that have already been resolved. I will do so in the future.

So please check if all things here are at least "usable". If there are any problems, report it to me or here.

@Jose: I will resist the idea to make this a political forum, also you know I am rather religious then in politics.
Here is my opinion: https://youtu.be/20O4-irxca8

This way American can become great again. Germany is lost anyway as it looks by now.
But we will see gods way is sometimes different from what people want.

It is almost identical to the Spanish saying: "Gato escaldado, del agua fría huye".

 I understand.

However, i havent even hit my 40's so, i doubt you have to worry about me dying before you.  ;D

Nah, seriously, I work closely with a friend who also works on PluriBASIC with me, and old PB'er
that acts as a back up for me as i do for him.

Brian.

I would avoid to make twice the same error, using a compiler that is based on the work of a single man (Zale's syndrom).

Patrice, PluriBASIC is made in a way that it allows anybody to work on it. For example, I seem to recall there is a bug in one of the DDT statements for DIALOG END hWnd&, but in PluriBASIC, even if i died, you could just open up the library DIALOG_END.bin and edit the statement yourself. It is pretty straightforward and it even allows to enter code for 32bit or 64 bits in the same library.

I plan to open it a bit more, for the moment all the "official" libraries would need to go trough me, but in the future i may implement a way to share libraries. Of course nothing would stop anobody from sharing libraries via email or something at the moment.

Besides, DDT is a secondary priority ATM. I would like to make it for SDK mostly.
