Have you ever used an Android tablet or a smart-phone, all applications want to track your location, same with your car when you use a GPS.

Try to switch off the Internet and the whole world will collapse.  8)

No, thats not the problem. The AGB from Windows 10 open up all your data "legaly" to anybody from Microsoft under "certain very general defined" circumstances. That was not the case before.
Aboutthe "phone home stuff" I agree with you. But do not use these devices.
My mobile phone holds one week without loading.

This Makes it easier. to disable most of the spying.
Win 10 has been know to change your settings back to their default values after some updates.
Don't think you are completely immuned by not upgrading!
